Appointments

Appointments may be made either in person, by telephoning the practice, or online via the link at the top of this page. Please be careful when booking appointments online that you select the correct site to avoid confusion as to which site you wish to be seen at.

You will be asked if you wish to give the reason for the appointment so that we can make sure that you are offered the appropriate personnel to manage your health needs. This is to enable us to make your appointment with the most suitable clinician, for example, blood pressure checks and smears are undertaken by the practice nurses.

Urgent / Same Day Appointments

Patients who have an urgent problem will always be seen on the same day. If you ring early on the day and can attend in the morning it helps us keep slots available for patients who need emergency treatment in the afternoons.

Routine Appointments

Routine appointments may be made in advance (maximum six weeks), which will enable us to offer you an appointment at a time suitable to your requirements.

If your condition is non-urgent, you can expect to see a GP within two working days, although you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP. If you don’t need an appointment within two working days, you have the option to book up to four weeks in advance if this is more convenient.

Telephone Consultations

You can book to have a telephone consultation with a doctor. When contacting the practice, please let the receptionist know that you wish to speak with the doctor on the telephone and this can be arranged for later the same day.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Our nurse practitioner has undergone extensive further training to obtain their qualification. They are fully integrated into our team and work in close liaison with the doctors. They run surgeries in which they examine, diagnose, prescribe and refer as appropriate.

In addition, the Advanced Nurse Practitioner runs clinics for long-term conditions, i.e. diabetes, heart and respiratory disease. Our Advanced nurse Practitioner also provides telephone consultations.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. We have looked at the rate of “DNA” (Did Not Attend) in the practice – patients who simply fail to turn up for an appointment they have made. If you DNA you will affect someone else! Medical records are marked with an entry when patients DNA. Don’t be a DNA! Please telephone and let us know if you are unable to keep your appointment. With the number of wasted appointments, this will increase the waiting time to arrange an appointment.
